Preparing for a trip can be a daunting task, but with the right knowledge and a few helpful tips, you can make it a breeze! First, consider the type of trip you are taking and the things you will need. Make sure to buy the right travel accessories such as the best carry on and travel luggage sets to fit your needs.
Make a list of the things to pack for a vacation along with these tips and you can be sure that you're fully prepared for your upcoming trip!
1.Passport/Real ID:
If you are traveling internationally, you must have proper travel documents excluding for cruises that begin at and return to the same U.S. Port. U.S. Citizens must have a valid passport. Real ID compliance varies greatly from state to state. I encourage travelers to seek information directly from the TSA at or their local DMV. See requirements at U.S. Customs Border Protections or for a new passport request visit, U.S. Department of State.
2. Books to read: Choose a few books or novels that you've been meaning to read. They can keep you entertained during the flight or while relaxing by the pool or beach. Or download : If you prefer digital reading, load up your Kindle or e-reader with a variety of e-books. This way, you'll have a wide selection to choose from without the added weight of physical books. Most flights offer Wi-Fi but be prepared for issues with the Wi-Fi therefore I recommend that you download your reading material prior to take off.
Water shoes are a must for a beach packing list. If you’re planning on participating in water activities like snorkeling, kayaking, or beach walks, it's a good idea to bring water shoes. They provide protection and grip on slippery or rocky surfaces. Amazon has some great options with fast shipping, buy water shoes
4. Light carry-on luggage: Opt for a lightweight carry-on bag that is easy to maneuver and meets airline restrictions. Look for one with multiple compartments for better organization and easy access to essential items. In fact, it may be best to also look for hard case luggage to protect your belongings inside, like this Light-weight luggage set by Travel Pro
5. Are you going to travel with a pet?
Let's dive straight into the wild world of pet travel. We understand pets deal with jetlag and travel anxiety just like us, only they can't indulge in complementary airplane snacks to soothe the nerves. Grab an airline approved travel pet carrier ahead of your trip because we know that travel can be ruff, but having the right travel pet carrier can make the journey silky smooth. Remember, a calm pet makes for a peaceful flight, and who doesn't want that? Safe and snug travels for all!
6. A travel camera is a fantastic item to bring along on your travels, as it allows you to capture and preserve your memories in a visual form. Here are some considerations when choosing a camera for travel perhaps look for a camera for travel that is Compact Size, Versatile, Image Quality, Ease of Use, and Battery Life. It's also a good idea to carry spare batteries or a portable charger and a waterproof protective camera case to ensure you don't run out of power. Last, look for durability especially if you're planning on engaging in adventurous activities or visiting rugged environments.
In addition to these specific items, here are a few more suggestions for your vacation packing list:
- Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and activities
- Swimwear and beach towels
- Sunscreen and sun protection (hat, sunglasses and don’t forget the 3 oz liquid rule for carry-ons)
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
- Medications, if needed. On this note, does someone in your party have special needs are potentially prone to injury or a health condition? Medical insurance alone may not cover for events that occur outside of the U.S. Consider adding travel insurance to cover for unexpected expenses from a medical event.
- Travel adapter and chargers for electronic devices
- Snacks and a reusable water bottle for the journey- remember, liquids must be in a 3 oz or smaller bottle for the airline.
